JAN
is a free consulting service that provides information about job accommodations,
disability legislation, and the employability of people with disabilities.
CAP's mission is to ensure people with disabilities have equal access
to the information environment and opportunities at the Department
of Defense and the Federal government. The DoD established CAP to
provide assistive technology and accommodation services for individuals
with visual, hearing, dexterity, and cognitive disabilities. CAP is
the centrally funded program in the Federal government to provide
accommodations.
The
JAN and CAP organizations link their services to create a joint portal
where all federal employers and employees dealing with disability
issues can quickly locate information to answer their most frequent
disability-related questions. The following links provide individual
pages addressing employer and employee issues. In addition, a page
addressing accommodation information common to both parties is provided.
