Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, Sections 501 and 505:Section 501 prohibits
employment discrimination against individuals with disabilities
in the federal sector. Section 505 contains provisions governing
remedies and attorney's fees under Section 501.
Section
503:Section 503 requires that any contract in excess
of $10,000 entered into by any Federal department or agency for
the procurement of personal property and nonpersonal services
(including construction) for the United States shall contain a
provision requiring that the party contracting with the United
States shall take affirmative action to employ and advance in
employment qualified individuals with disabilities.
Section
504: Section 504 states that no otherwise qualified individual
with a disability in the United States shall, solely by reason
of his or her disability, be excluded from the participation in,
be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under
any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance
or under any program or activity conducted by any Executive agency
or by the United States Postal Service.
Section
508:Section 508 requires that Federal agencies'
electronic and information technology is accessible to people
with disabilities, including employees and members of the public.
