JAN Webcasts are available at no cost. Gather your employees together in a room for live, in-service training. Educate yourself, management, and other employees on disability etiquette, assistive technologies, management techniques, and the latest on accommodations and the employment provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All Webcasts begin at 2 pm eastern and are 1 hour. You must register to attend. One registration is equivalent to one login.

December 7, 2009 - Considering the Needs of Employees with Disabilities During a Pandemic Flu Outbreak
Speakers: Carol R. Miaskoff Assistant Legal Counsel, Coordination Office of Legal Counsel, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Brian S. Parsons, Senior Policy Advisor Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties U.S. Department of Homeland Security with Anne Hirsh, M.S., JAN Co-Director.

This Webcast training session will inform employers on the currents status of the Pandemic Flu and review good practices and policies for pandemic planning in the workplace. The focus will be on issues concerning pandemic flu in the workplace and potential needs of employees with disabilities. Information and resources on what an employer may or may not ask all employees related to concerns for their workforce and pandemic flu outbreak will be discussed in detail. Participants will gain knowledge in how to potentially address the needs of employees with various medical conditions. Resources to remain current on issues pertaining to pandemic flu in the workplace will be reviewed and identified.
